Hirudotherapy is being used by otolaryngologists, to treat inflammatory and neurological diseases of the ear, nose and throat such as acute and chronic otitis, sinusitis, and laryngitis, and by dermatologists, to treat clinical forms of dermatitis and dermatosis (eczema, psoriasis, paronychia, scleroderma).
