Latest
update on my leech therapy....I'm doing quite well. No discomfort, no redness
and, I'm happy to say, some hair regrowth in the important top of the head
area. I've gotten SOME hair back at the sideburns but not much so far. Just
happy to be comfortable and not have any more shedding. I'll be starting my
next phase of therapy on the 24th. Not looking forward to it in some ways, but
in others...YES! My sister, by the way, as you may know she's being treated
with leeches for Parkinson's is doing well. She's had a 10 to 15% improvement
in movement control after only two treatments! She's regained her ability to
open her car door with her affected hand, gets in and out of her car more
easily, can shampoo her hair more easily, and today she told me she can clap
her hands again, which she had stopped being able to do many months ago. All
very important signs of improvement. I wish this therapy were as easy as
taking pills but I'm happy and grateful for the improvements both in my LPP
and in my sister's Parkinson's. It remains to be seen whether or not these
treatments last but I'm willing, as always, to be cautiously
optimistic.

My name is Ellen and I'm one of the very few people in the world to
suffer a disfiguring problem known as Lichen Planopilaris which is a
scarring alopecia. My scalp was plagued with horrible itching and burning.
My hair, including one of my eyebrows, was falling out and being replaced
with scar tissue which I was assured by many doctors would make it impossible for hair to
grow back. I was told I would lose ALL of my hair, including my eyebrows and eyelashes and I'd just have to live with it.
Having tried western medicine to no avail and having turned many different types of radical
alternative remedies that were expensive and didn't work, I finally came across hirudotherapy. I came in contact with Alicja and she started treating me, my whole self, with the black pearls, the leeches. I have had two treatments a week for three weeks for my first round of sessions. After a break of 6 weeks, we are set for another three week
treatment segment. So far, Alicja and her amazing leeches have been able to stop the burning and the
itching but more importantly, the impossible is beginning to happen. So far, my hair has stopped falling out and the
eyebrow that had lost so much hair has new hair growing on it! When I went to Alicja, I only asked if she
could stop what was happening at it's present state. She said of course she could stop it and that my hair could
be restored. I didn't for a moment believe that was possible, but after 3 weeks of intense treatment, I see
that I was wrong and she was right. I look at my eyebrow and I know that the doctors were wrong when they gave me
this horrible diagnosis that would leave me disfigured even IF I took their toxic drugs! Now I look forward
to the restoration not only of my hair, but of my self esteem. As a former model, my looks were important to me
and my hair had been my shining glory. I've been so depressed over what was happening to me but I'm very
glad that I didn't give up. Now I have renewed hope and my calm nature is restored. I can't, and never will, be
able to thank her enough.
